Summer Fun at the Santa Monica Pier

July 01, 2017

One of California’s most iconic locales, the Santa Monica Pier has been featured in countless movies and television shows. And with the wide array of entertainment available there, it’s definitely worth the short 25-minute drive from the Chamberlain Hotel. There’s Pacific Park, the Pier’s amusement park for the whole family. With a dozen rides, including a solar-powered ferris wheel and a rollercoaster, you’ll be shocked at the entrance fee (hint: it’s free). You can also hear free live music from 7 – 10 P.M. on Thursdays throughout the summer, and if you show up between 4 and 7, you can take advantage of the happy hour specials at the Pier’s many pubs and restaurants. Of course, the beach, known to locals as State Beach, is just as famous as the Pier: three miles of soft, sparkling sand and gorgeous Pacific views. You might be tempted to stay there forever, if not for the call of your luxurious room—and LA’s finest craft cocktails—back at the Chamberlain West Hollywood Hotel.
