September 03, 2017 As the largest interactive science center on the West Coast, the California Science Center offers a wide array of permanent exhibits to delight visitors of all ages, including Ecosystems, a multi-level exhibit featuring live land and marine animals; Creative World, which showcases great technological innovations in energy, construction, and transportation; and several aeronautical exhibits featuring various aircraft and spacecraft. In addition to these permanent exhibits, visitors can also enjoy the world-renowned Body Worlds, which features over 200 preserved specimens of actual humans: organs, paper-thin slices, and even entire bodies. You’ll get an up-close look at the stunning complexity of the human organism in a way that was once accessible only to medical professionals. Exhibits include specimens from individuals at the apex of health (think world-class athletes and dancers) and the depths of disease (think sclerotic livers and blackened lungs). You won’t want to miss this temporary installation of Body Worlds, the largest in over a decade.
